Banned or suspended members policy:

We (the BRS, BOD) have a policy of not discussing the issues surrounding a banned member, that includes even announcing that someone is banned or suspended. Since they are not on the forum, they cannot comment. You may see that as covering something up. The BOD sees it as respecting the person who was banned, and taking the high road. If you'd like to hear more about the issue with respect to disciplinary action regarding any member of the forum, you are welcome to discuss it privately with any BOD member face to face at the next BRS meeting.

In the past we have banned members, and allowed them eventually to return. If we had publicly humiliated them, told all the secrets, etc., without them being able to put a word in...would that be fair? The BOD feels it would be pretty hard to ever let anyone return to the forum if everyone knew all the reasons they'd been banned. Sometimes the information (that was then checked into by the BOD to confirm its accuracy) that got the person banned was supplied by a member with the understanding that they did not want everything revealed publicly.

The number of people ever banned from the BRS forum is extremely low (I'm not talking about spamers who live in China or Russia). We are an extremely tolerant bunch, but we do have limits. If someone is banned or suspended, chances are that they violated some part (possibly many parts) of the user agreement to the forum, which is located here:

An edit/update/clarification. If we (the BRS, BOD) cannot talk about it on this forum, members of course should also NOT comment upon someone's suspension or banning. Please LEAVE IT ALONE! A simple 'welcome back' is okay, but please, don't take it beyond that.
