Basement Sump and Furnace Cleaning

Are there any issues with having your furnace cleaned with a basement sump? They are coming at 2pm to clean my furnace and I am wondering if I should go home to cover my sump and refugium. I believe the cleaning would put carbon dust in the air? If you have any experience let me know.

I remember reading a while back(I think on RC) about a case.
I guess the dust was escaping out into the air through the filters and got into his sump.
The poster said the guy doing it wasn't too bright.
It crashed his tank.
