Catching Gobies in an Overflow

I'm not really looking forward to this. Before I dismantle that area of the overflow I thought I would seek out some advice. Here's the situation there are two small cleaner gobies, each is about 1 inch long and the thickness of a pencil. The overflow area in my aquapod is only about 3 1/2 inches wide and the fish are way too fast to catch with a net. Any ideas?

Yeah, take a 1" hose and siphon water + fish into a bucket.
