Thought I would add this to the diy section.
I've got a small tank and don't need to top off a ton so this works well for me.
Supplies
Clean gallon water jug/ milk jug
decent amount of airline tubing
adjustable irrigation drip head
I purchased mine at Wal-mart for 1.99(4 heads) or so in the lawn and garden section of the store. they are made to work under pressure but work very well for this applicatiion.
how to make
attach irrigation drip head to one end of airline tubing
pierce hole in milk jug 1 inch or so above bottom of jug. Make hole just lightly smaller than your airline tubing.
push airline tubing into hole. putting one or two inches into the container.
you have just made a kalk dripper!!
add pickling lime/kalc mix or whatever you are going to use for making kalk.
add ro/di water to about 1 inch from top of jug.
mix by shaking.
let sit over night with cover on jug.
open dripper.
adjust to flow that you need.
Some things to remember...
don't fill jug completely full of water. When I forget...i end up making a vacumn in the jug and almost destroying it.
the drip head will need to be cleaned once a month with vinegar.
this is gravity fed and will need to be placed overhead of the tank you are dripping into.
Hope you enjoy this.
