Lighting help

just put my new dual 175 mh in with 44 110watt vho .. looks sick ...


question .. i used ti have 660 watts of just vho ..


light aclimation?

what should i do? its only another 130 watts .. but its more intense ..

suggestions?

the clams and the sps i think would prolly be okay .. but my leather and my lps/polyps might not take it as well ...

if you really want to, get screen material from home depot. put layers of it over you tank.
slowly remove over time to aclimate to the light.

i have never worried about it.

When I added new lights I ran the MHs for shorter times and slowly bumped it up until I got to where I wanted

If you can, raise it about 10 inches then lower it a couple inches every other day until its down where you want it.

The screen works well also and the short photo-period suggested by Ray.

eh all the corals look fine today they should do fine .. the clams are more open than i have seen .. and thats alot saying hte mantles on mine already open like 3"+ so i think its good ... thanks everyone for the suggestions...
