Need Help - Little white "things"

Noticed tiny white things on glass & PVC in refuge tank on skimmer side. Can anyone help identify? Sorry - no pics.

Probably need more description. Common items are pods, sponges, baby featherdusters...

Are they moving? crunchy, squishy?

Squishy, seems bug-like, has body. Only one end of body attaches to glass. Haven't seen any free-floating. No movement in them. Been having problem in the last 2 weeks with brown film, algae (? Diatoms) All my parameters are on the mark, except phosphate a bit high.

Probably pineapple sponges, they are harmless.
