Washing filter socks

So, my wife goes and throws my filter socks in with the regular wash. Detergent and fabric softener. Do you think they are salvageable with a couple of bleach washings, or just throw them out?

I know plenty of people that run them through the washer with just hot water, but not with detergent. You could soak them in water, with repeating water changes to remove residual detergent, but if it was me, I would just buy new socks.

I usually use bleach and an extra rinse cycle. I'm just cheap, and at 7 bucks a pop, I'm just trying to get away with it. It's not so much the detergent I'm worried about as it is the fabric softener.

I usually do bleach in the washer then another cycle with just water to get it all out, then thoroughly let them dry, bleach dissipates when dry
