Dumb question about wall light switch replacement

M#1 I got that, the question is why the instructions don't mention anything about a third, ground, wire, for dummies like me?

Please don't take this the wrong way, it's because some manufactures figure that the item will be installed by a qualified person. If this was the case, then the electrician would have know what to do with the ground wire. No disrespect in regards to your ability.
