Basement sump design

Hi!

I would like someone to critique and give ideas regarding the the attached basement sump design I just created. (I'm not the best at pretty pics but I think that you can get the idea. )

I have a Gen-X return pump that will handle the pressure / flow requirements.

Thanks!
Rick

You may want to add a set of baffles before the return pump, then dump the fuge in as close to that return as possible, so that you get as much beneficial life up to the main tank as you can.
Also is that a shared QT/ water change tank ?

Thanks!

Yes that is a shared QT / Water change. When I need a QT I'll just close it off and throw my old equipment at it!

Great Idea for the fuge dump.

do you have room for a seperate QT? My concern there would be contamination from meds used in QT. It will be almost impossible to clean the QT 100% with every use, then there's leaking ball valves accidents ..etc..

I would just use part of the 150 as a frag tank.
Or even put the frag tank in the 150g - slightly raised up
I would also put the fuge in the 150g
That way, if either tank overflows, it will simply dump into the 150g
As a matter of fact I think I would simply have them overflow the top to drain to the 150g
Simple enough to build a PVC stand to set them on

Good call on the QT Marc, I was thinking of using my QT inline too

Not a bad idea at all! Good call. I'll make the necessary adjustments to the design. Just getting my 150 gallon this week so plenty of time to change hte design.

I have plenty of room in the basement.

Thanks!
