Drain pipe help

Iam installing the megaflow overflow kit and the drain pipe is taller than the overflow box.. Iam gonna cut it on the lower neck part as it always can be adjusted upwards but was wondering if there is a corect height for this pipe or personal preference TIA

That'll probably work fine as is. The water level will sit right around those two large (and unnecessary) holes on the T part.

I've had mine high and low and it didn't really make a difference.

Have you considered a herbie overflow? I love mine and it's absolutely dead silent. I took advantage of that telescoping larger drain to allow me to have zero waterfall sound while still having adequate emergency drainage.
